Welcome to some of the hallmarks and interesting times (weird and sane)

IBVA parts in suitcase

Isn't it cute!
It's the IBVA back in 1972.
Back then you controlled LED's and VU meters and funny analog waves!
Come on! Give us some applause! We still made it all fit in a suitcase folks!

IBVA proto 1.gif (12149 bytes)Multiple shots of early designs

There were a ton of early IBVA designs
All of them groovy!

Area full of gear         People around testing gear on old computers

The IBVA is hammered, kicked around, beaten horribly, dropped,
tortured electronically and even insulted until every last bug and bad design element was
forced out of town. Leaving the rock solid design and manufacturing process that has earned us
our 100% zero failure rate among our users. Yes!

Early MIDI gear

Before there was a single MIDI instrument made in the world,
IBVA was compatible from the first MIDI specification hammered out
(MIDI is the language of electronic music control)

Early shot of Masahiro controlling laserdisc player with robot to side

When lazerdisc players were lab prototypes, IBVA was controlling them.
(note the little robot to the right of the TV screen, we controlled that too)

A later brain controlled robot.
It's so cute!

The Step 1 interface!
Hang it in a museum!
That's classic computer history!

Early pictures of brain altered art

The first brainwave controlled computer images in 1984!

We offered the worlds first brainwave controlled videogame joystick!
Which could also be mixed with our VR Helmet!

Or mixed with muscle control to put real "punch" into the game.
(get it? punch! funny!)

Table exhibit shot, people and computers

IBVA at the 1991 MacWorld show

We offered the worlds first Virtual Reality Brainwave Tracking headset!
Come on now! How cool is that!

Billy Idol, eyes closed, wearing product

Billy Idol proves his stuff on IBVA!

Woman wearing product, playing violin, with camera crew

France TV does a show on us in 1992!

Ahh...the worlds first Silicon Graphics 6 degrees of freedom software!
Programmed by Academy Award winning programmer Bill Bishop! (all around nice guy : )
Brainwave interactive virtual reality anyone?

YMO bandmember sitting on couch wearing product in studio

Oh look, it's just the pioneer band YMO mixing down their 1993 album....VIA 2 CHANNEL IBVA SYSTEM!!!!
Besides their albums they have done the soundtracks of such films as "The Last Emperor",
"Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence", "The Sheltering Sky", "Little Buddha" and more.

Man lifts weight that isn't there!
Artist Vox can do it with muscles or mind!

Tim Leary wearing product, meditating

We asked Bobby Dylan,
We asked the Beetles,
We asked Timothy Leary,
He knew  :)

Tim Leary wearing product, smiling

Timothy Leary Dead?
We heard he's on the outside looking in now.

DeeLite members, one flashing victory hand gesture

Look! It's the groovy group Deee-Lite!
They dig us and we dig them!
Hi Miss Lady Kier! (swoon!)

Worlds first brainwave system for home automation control.
Lock that door!

2 people sitting, one wearing product, the other watching the hologram he is controlling

IBVA controls a hologram in 1992!

Picture of electronic doll
This was our MindReacher Pak.
Control switch adapted devices like this Tickle Me™ doll
Make him laugh with your brain, even if you can't use your arms : )

We offered it as a free modification for people in need : )

Jim and Masahiro discussing screen image

Multimedia pioneer Jim Shure of BIGTWIN was an early supporter of IBVA

Here at IBVA we sometimes let our plants answer your e-mails!

Multiple video captures of Limelight party

Laurie Anderson AND Vincent John Vincent both slapped on the electrodes and controlled
some trippy lazerdisc material at the Mondo 2000
Beyond 2000 party at the LimeLight club in Manhattan back in '92.

Do birds talk to plants? Can the plants understand what birds are saying? Eduardo Kac and Ikuo Nakamura were trying to determine the answer. They connected an IBVA System to a plant located in New York City. Then hooked up a speakerphone to a bird cage containing a canary in Kentucky. During a long-distance phone call, the plant's electrical patterns were converted to sound information which triggered a musical synthesizer. The canary listened to the plant's sounds and then sang a song, in response.

"We are surrounded by plants and can't survive without them," says Nakamura. "They produce oxygen and food for people. However, we really don't understand them. While scientists have proven plants move and sense light and gravity, we don't know how or if plants feel or even think."
Nakamura, a self-described holographer, is also using IBVA to control three-dimensional animated images.
You can see the plant / bird interaction here http://www.ekac.org/Essay.html

Screenshot of display with obvious patterns

Light/Sound tests on the brain with IBVA produce some amazing data!

MacWorld 94 show floor shot of people around booth

IBVA clues in the world on digital video and game control!

Product and computer and plant on table

Ola Pehrson is a Super User of ours!
He used the IBVA to make a plant pick and trade stocks from the local stock exchange in real time!
(and the plant actually did well with the stocks)
We salute him and project programmer Thomas Broome for making something in the true spirit of IBVA!

We now all can see a future where plants will choose our stocks, drive our cars, and do the shopping. (no laughing please, it could happen  : )

Video captures of people dancing to huge screens of brainwave display

Those are giant screens folks.
The IBVA gets used in clubs from San Francisco to London!
We know how to party!

We offered the worlds first brainwave controlled infra-red controller!
The ultimate couch potato accessory!!!!
The Ultimate!!!!

Brainwave display at Siggraph floor, dolphin graphics over huge screen

IBVA hits Siggraph, again!

Pictures of guts of brain controlled cabinet

The worlds first brainwave controlled furniture!
We did it with our MindOS system!
You could select the drawer then open and close it!
Great for fun or necessity!

MacWorld 98 show floor

At most expos, after a few people try the IBVA they hang around and explain it to others waiting in line.
They get excited and help us out.
It's very cool.

Princess wearing product, smiling  Scan of letter

A real live Princess from Austria gives us a visit and leaves us with a groovy royal letter of recommendation!

Woman wearing VR helmet surrounded by gear

SGI's to the left! PC's to the right! Macs all over!

Woman wearing VR helmet surrounded by gear

One of our secret underground labs.
Where people are chained to virtual headsets and surrounded in a circle of work.
Brains are uploaded and then transferred to young bodies to extend R&D time.
